Sports and Yoga
For a long time, sports have been viewed as a way to stay healthy and in shape, but their importance goes much further. As a matter of fact, playing sports teaches life lessons like discipline, responsibility, self-confidence, accountability and team work.
Playing sports helps the brain grow and makes it work better. It also brings people together and creates a sense of community.
Yoga, an ancient practice and meditation, has become important in today’s busy schedule. It provides a retreat from the chaotic and busy lives. It develops inner awareness. It soothes tension and anxiety in the mind and body. So, it brings calm and mindfulness to our busy life.
At Doon Public School, Gohana
All kinds of sports (Outdoor and Indoor) are practised regularly. Outdoor Sports facility includes basketball, football, volleyball, badminton, kabaddi, Kho-Kho and other such sports.
Indoor Sports room is a well-developed area. It includes boxing, table-tennis, carom board, chess and a lot of other indoor sports and they all are enjoyed by the students of all the age-groups.
Yoga is followed regularly in the time-table. In yoga and Meditation room, students and staff are provided these sessions under the guidance of an expert Yoga Coach. Time to time activities and competitions are organized in this field too.
